Students & Scientists 2011This year HBCAC students presented once again at the Breast Cancer Environmental Research Program (BCERP) conference. After a rigorous summer internship each teen submitted a scientific abstract, created a poster and articulately explained what they had learned. The Student and Scientists Environmental Research Scholarship program provides young adults with a solid foundation in environmental science and provides a forum for highschool students to integrate their discoveries into their personal lives. Our students go on to educate the community regarding environmental factors and how they have an impact on our health. Most recently, at a national Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Program Conference (BCERP), our students presented what they had learned and were able to articulate how it impacts public health. Their contributions to the program were well received, each of our students were recognized by the science community and received awards. "We could not be more proud of the dedication and accomplishments of all the students who have graduated from our program of prestige." Lisa Kratter, HBCAC Students and Scientists Program Coordinator. Scientists: Stony Brook University, Biomedical Engineering, Long Island Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, Mass.
