sister study

Woman by woman….Sister by sister….
We can make a difference!

In October of 2004, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) launched the Sister Study to learn why some women get breast cancer and others don’t. Studying women whose sisters have or had breast cancer is a great way to do this because, although sisters share genes, one may get the disease while the other may not. The Sister Study will look at how environmental exposures in our homes, workplaces and communities may affect our chances of getting breast cancer.

To date over 38,000 sisters are enrolled in the study. Please help reach the goal of 50,000 sisters. Will you join the Sister Study for your daughters, nieces, granddaughters and future generations?
